Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra’s annual performance is sure to strike a chord with many who delight in listening to classical and modern music.
The orchestra includes more than 50 members who vary in age, but share a love of music.
This year’s program includes works from Handel’s Fireworks Suite and Beethoven’s 7th Symphony, Saint-Saen’s Carnival of the Animals narrated by Fiona Kennan, Forty Reasons to be Cheerful by Australian composer Graeme Koehne and a John William’s medley featuring music from the Harry Potter movies.
The orchestra will be joined by vocalists Renée Rankin and Felicity McCowan for a beautiful rendition of Delibes Flower Duet from Lakme.
Choir 36 Degrees South will also join the orchestra for a performance of Handel’s Zadok the Priest and Simon Oakes will join the choir and orchestra to sing Queen’s Somebody to Love as the final musical piece for this year’s concert.
