Regional Victoria’s biggest pop culture exhibition will be back for another year.
Nerdmania will hit Shepparton for the third year running when it returns to Shepparton Showgrounds.
Word and Mouth project manager Jim Gow is busy putting in the final bookings to make sure it is a big day filled with entertainment.
‘‘I can just about guarantee there will be something for everybody,’’ Mr Gow said.
The event is modelled after popular science fiction and pop culture festivals such as Comic-Con and Supernova, which attract thousands of fans to major cities.
Shepparton’s Nerdmania would be a much smaller affair, but Mr Gow said interest had been building each year.
‘‘We are hopeful of breaking through the 1000 people barrier this time, last year we had in excess of 850,’’ he said.
This year there will be a bigger focus on gaming, especially console and board games, as well as activities and crafts for some of the younger attendees.
‘‘We’ll have something where kids can design their own superhero mask,’’ Mr Gow said.
More announcements will be made closer to the date on the Word and Mouth Facebook page.
Nerdmania will take place on Saturday, July 22, in the multi purpose pavilion at Shepparton Showgrounds.
