Those who love classical music may enjoy the chance to hear the Inventi Ensemble perform at St Paul’s Lutheran Church.

The Inventi Ensemble has become well known for entertaining Greater Shepparton residents with a wide repertoire of music.

Their coming show is part of the church’s Concert in the Chapels series and will have the musicians perform an arrangement of JS Bach’s epic Art of Fugue.

Concerts in the Chapel committee member Chris Walker said it was wonderful that the Inventi Ensemble had continued to come to Shepparton to perform.

‘‘It should be a great concert,’’ he said.

‘‘They’ve given outstanding concerts before.’’

Inventi Ensemble member Ben Opie said the concert would feature five musicians using seven instruments: the flute, alto flute, cor anglais, oboe, violin, viola and cello.

‘‘We do love coming back to Shepparton,’’ Mr Opie said.

‘‘What we always try to do is come back with something different.’’

Mr Opie said JS Bach’s epic Art of Fugue was beautiful in its original form and it was really exciting for the Inventi Ensemble to adapt it.

Mr Walker said performances such as that by Inventi Ensemble helped showcase what the St Paul’s Lutheran Church had to offer.

‘‘This is a whole different concept and it’s for the purpose of engaging the community with the facility,’’ he said.

The Inventi Ensemble will return to St Paul’s Lutheran Church on Sunday, July 23, for a 2pm performance, followed by supper at the church. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for concession and $50 for a family (two adults and two children) and can be brought at www. inventiensemble.com/tickets
