A host of world-class dancers will take to Shepparton’s Eastbank Centre stage for the Rhythms of Ireland 10 Year Anniversary Australia Tour this month.
One of the show’s principal lead dancers Tom Brosnan cannot wait to be on stage with the all-star cast in Australia.
‘‘The calibre of dancers is phenomenal and up there with Riverdance, the cast has got stronger and stronger and features champion dancers from Ireland, Australia, England and America,’’ Mr Brosnan said.
‘‘The music is also outstanding, with the two musicians all-Ireland champion winners who play a range of instruments from guitars, whistles to uilleann pipes.’’
Mr Brosnan started his professional dancing career in Australia when he joined The Rhythms of Ireland 2009 Tour and has not looked back, touring with 10 different productions in more than 30 different countries.
He immediately fell in love with dancing when he started at seven.
‘‘My mum dragged me along kicking and screaming to my first dancing lesson, she was a dancer and it wasn’t option to not dance but I took to it straightaway,’’ Mr Brosnan said.
He has since gone on to win five World Championships in team competitions and was named Man of The Year by Irish Dancing magazine in 2013.
Mr Brosnan said if you enjoy Riverdance or any Irish dance and music; this show is a must because it was very true to traditional Irish style dance and was produced in Ireland.
The production has been seen by more than two million people worldwide.
