Choir, opera to share stage

October 09, 2017

The Opera Scholars Australia will return to Euroa this month to perform with its junior community choir.

The rising stars of the Opera in the Alps — the Opera Scholars Australia — returns to Euroa this month after a well-received concert last year.

Singing divine arias, rousing choruses and some of the best loved music from the world of opera, the Scholars will also welcome the Euroa Junior Community Choir to share the stage.

Event spokesperson Fred Jungwirth said the delightful group of young singers was formed at the end of last year when the chance arose for children’s choirs from north east Victoria to attend a workshop and perform in Opera in the Alps 2017.

‘‘Sunday, October 22, will see these children attend another workshop, run by OSA especially for them, to further develop their skills and they will then present a beautiful acapella version of an Irish Blessing,’’ Mr Jungwirth said.

The concert will be held in the Euroa Community Cinema, Bury St, Euroa, on October 22 from 2pm, supported by the Strathbogie Shire Council.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children. For ticket inquiries, phone 0408 443 288 or buy at The Hub information centre, Binney St, Euroa.
