Reality is set to bite

By Lauren Bordin

Just three games separates Tallygaroopna at the top of the table and 10th-placed Girgarre in Kyabram District Netball League.

While the Redlegs and Nagambie lead the pack, the evenness of the remainder of the competition shows sides are catching up.

Just Ardmona, Longwood, Rushworth and Violet Town trail that mix and this round is set to begin sorting through those above them.

The Wombats and the Kangaroos are on four wins, but after facing each other, one will take the advantage.

While Girgarre’s Dani Jones went down with an injury last weekend she is likely to return as the side aims to counteract Lancaster’s goalers.

Wombats co-coach Bec Monk is hoping for some improved accuracy this week after having enough ball against Dookie United to win, but being unable to make it count.

In another stirling encounter, Merrigum hosts Undera with the Bulldogs entering the match with a point to prove.

Louise Richards’ side netted just 12 goals last week against Tallygaroopna in a stark display of the Redlegs’ dominance.

Similar to Lancaster the Bulldogs will benefit from settling in the goal circle as they look to quickly move on from last week.

In contrast the Lions cruised past Rushworth and have aims for their fifth win of the season.

Avenel’s blistering start to the season has slowed down as it meets another genuine challenger each week.

Stanhope gave the Swans a lesson last week, but Kelly Smith’s side should rebound in fine fashion against Ardmona.

With their good form the Lions are roaring favourites against Longwood, while Nagambie is in line for a big win against Rushworth.

Dookie United should build a big margin against Violet Town, but Tallygaroopna is set for a difficult encounter when it travels to Murchison-Toolamba.
