Families and film buffs can look forward to outdoor community cinema this summer thanks to a Cinema Pop-Up at Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton.
The Greater Shepparton City Council initiative will run for four consecutive nights from Thursday, January 25, to Sunday, January 28 and will feature children’s and family movies, including The Lego Batman Movie, Red Dog, Pitch Perfect and Dodgeball: A true underdog story.
Council’s economic development manager Geraldine Christou said the pop-up roadshow would also feature food trucks, frozen drinks, popcorn and a bar.
She encouraged families to arrive early, find a good spot and set up with blankets and cushions to enjoy a picnic before the movie started.
‘‘This event is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors whilst spending time with friends and family,’’ Ms Christou said.
‘‘I encourage everyone to come along for a different movie experience, enjoy the food and beverage options available and take time to relax.’’
The event is supported by the Transport Accident Commission, Toyota and Prime Super.
Tickets are limited and available for free when booking online or are available to buy at the gate from $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Gates open at 6pm.
