Be ready to banter

YouTube sensation and comedian Alex "Shooter" Williamson.

YouTube sensation and comedian Alex ‘‘Shooter’’ Williamson will bring his stand-up show to Shepparton this weekend.

Notorious for his Loosest Aussie Bloke Ever videos and politically incorrect jokes, he may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but he knows how to banter.

He said he was excited about coming to Shepparton.

‘‘I’m actually going to get on Wikipedia and read a bit about Shepparton (before I come), the average humidity and population size ... where the gnarly birds are at,’’ he said.

‘‘I love getting to regional parts of Australia ... when I walk down the street people come up and say hello or maybe it’s me asking them where the strip joints are.’’

Shooter said Shepparton was ‘‘hands down’’ his most exciting show yet and he might as well announce it as his farewell show as Sheppartonians understood him.

‘‘You guys speak my language ... here I can speak like I’m in the last day of a bender, in the kitchen with the boys,’’ he said.

‘‘This is the home of Australia, where the bogans live and it would be a nice little send off.

‘‘I’ve been to Paris and Rome, the Effiel Tower is rusty and the Colosseum if falling down, but Shepparton is a very modern fresh town.’’

More than half the tickets to his Make the World a Banter Place show at Eastbank on Saturday have sold out.

‘‘It’s a sensory overload, you get a bit of the real me and the stand-up is quite nice,’’ he said.

Alex ‘‘Shooter’’ Williamson will be at the Riverlinks, Eastbank Centre at 7.30pm, on Saturday night with tickets costing $37.50. Phone Riverlinks on 58329511 for tickets or visit the website.
