It is full steam ahead for this Sunday’s Shepparton Farmers Market, with Moira Miniature Rail preparing for their first regular run.
With the train track at Emerald Bank back up and running after more than 12 months, Moira Miniature Railway secretary Laurie Kennedy is looking forward to the day.
Mr Kennedy said a number of trains will be running on the track during the day, for people to ride and enjoy.
‘‘We are looking forward to being down at the market this weekend,’’ he said.
‘‘All of the club members really enjoy giving people rides and seeing the smiles on their faces at the end of each trip.’’
Moira Miniature Rail will be a new addition to the monthly market alongside a variety of arts and crafts and farmers market stalls.
Market co-ordinator Erin Balfour said people could expect about 60 stallholders to be operating on the day, with a handful of new additions to the line-up.
Singer Matt Hooper will also be at the market entertaining the crowd.
‘‘We are always looking for local stall holders to get involved; we showcase products and produce that is grown and made in our local area,’’ Mrs Balfour said.
‘‘Come down and check it out. We are hoping to have a busy weekend with lots of visitors in town.’’
Shepparton Farmers Market is on this Sunday at Emerald Bank from 9am to 1pm. Train ride tickets can be bought on the day from the Shepparton Motor Museum.
