Guitar duo the Grigoryan Brothers will showcase their diverse skills at an upcoming performance in Shepparton next month.
Slava and Leonard Grigoryan will perform songs from their latest release, Songs Without Words, as they take the classical guitar into genres such as jazz, folk and contemporary music.
The duo say their concerts include a dimension to guitar-playing rarely seen in the musical world.
Their latest release has a return to classical repertoire with songs by composers such as Bach, Elgar, Dvorak, Rachmaninoff, Faure, De Falla and Ponce all masterfully arranged for them by their father Edward.
The senior Grigoryan had previously arranged the music of Tchaikovsky’s suite for piano The Seasons, for his sons’ 2012 release.
The program will also include other works highlighting Slava and Leonards diverse skills: their deep appreciation of a broad spectrum of musical styles has resulted in many collaborations involving music, both written and improvised.
The performance will begin at 7pm on Thursday, April 12 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Poplar Ave, Shepparton. Tickets can be bought from www.trybooking.com/UCKS
