Farmer Darryl’s petting zoo was back at KidsTown on Friday for its first Farmer Darryl Day.
Unfortunately, Kidsfest falls on the same weekend as the Melbourne Show and Farmer Darryl’s petting zoo has been pre-booked for the show for the past three years.
‘‘Farmer Darryl has been here from the very beginning of Kidsfest, but he’s one of our success stories and that’s why we have created this alternative day on the Easter holidays,’’ KidsTown co-ordinator Tracey Toy said.
Farmer Darryl’s petting zoo was the main attraction with sheep, goats and bottle feeding calves, followed by jumping castles, miniature train rides and scavenger hunts.
‘‘This is our first Farmer Darryl Day and hopefully there will be a lot more,’’ Farmer Darryl said.
‘‘We love it over here and Shepparton people love us and we’re rapt to be back for Farmer Darryl Day.’’
