Music to fill chapel

Czech violinist Romana Geermans and 10-string Spanish guitarist Matthew Fagan will perform as duo Gypsy Fire in Shepparton.

Shepparton’s Concert in the Chapel series continues with a performance from Gypsy Fire next month.

The duo features Czech violinist Romana Geermans and 10-string Spanish guitarist Matthew Fagan.

Mr Fagan founded Gypsy Fire in 1997. He performs regularly in major concert venues nationally and internationally.

Mr Fagan’s offsider Romana Geermans was born in Prague, and at age 15, she toured with the renowned Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra for seven years.

Ms Geermans has toured extensively in Australia with many different groups, including jazz, pop, gypsy and country groups.

This year’s Concert in the Chapel series began last month and will continue to December.

The Gypsy Fire Concert in the Chapel will be on Saturday, May 12, from 7.30pm (doors open 7pm) at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, 54 Poplar Ave, Shepparton.

Tickets cost $25 for adults, $50 for families, or $10 for children under 16 years (prebooked) or $5 extra per ticket if purchased at the door. Tickets include supper.
