Pauline Hanson has urged her federal counterparts to refrain from personal attacks while lashing out at a fellow senator.
Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young is demanding compensation from Liberal Democrat senator David Leyonhjelm after he told her to "stop shagging men" on the floor of the upper house last week.
"People think that butter wouldn't melt in Sarah Hanson-Young's mouth," the One Nation leader told reporters in Queensland on Friday.
"That's incorrect. She is a nasty piece of work on the floor of parliament."
Senator Hanson-Young would often during parliamentary debates "dish it out and then she sits down with a smirk across her face", she said.
But Senator Hanson said both she and the public were sick of petty political stoushes, urging politicians to just do their job for the people.
Comment is being sought from Senator Hanson-Young.
