Solar City Country Music Club’s secretary John Eddy and president Trish Budd are looking forward to the Mother’s Day concert.

Solar City Country Music Club band members Bob Casella on base, Colin Opie on drums and John Ferguson on lead guitar.

Mother’s Day will be filled with country music at Shepparton Italian Social Club.

Shepparton’s Solar City Country Music Club will host a Mother’s Day concert and club secretary John Eddy said it would be the first one in six years.

‘‘We have three guest artists — Cameron Mason, Sandy Dodd and Colin McFarlane — instead of one, which this has never been done before in the Goulburn Murray Valley,’’ Mr Eddy said.

The guest artists will be accompanied by the club’s band The Night Owls, who regularly play at monthly gatherings.

The event also includes two hours for walk-up artists to come along and share their talents.

‘‘Walk-up artists are quite welcome any time, they can walk up empty-handed and sing straight away, they can play guitar if they want to, they can sing with the band or without,’’ Mr Eddy said.

Door prizes, raffles, nifty 50s, a barbecue lunch and meat raffles will he held with proceeds going towards the club’s next community donation.

‘‘We make a donation twice to three times a year (and) this year (we) already donated to the Disability Accommodation Service Kialla and GV Health children’s ward,’’ he said.

‘‘If someone comes to us and says we need this, we work to get it for them.’’

Solar City Country Music Club’s Mother’s Day concert on Sunday, May 13, runs from noon to 5pm at Shepparton Italian Social Club, 36 Marungi St, Shepparton. Entry is $6 for members and $7 for non-members.
