Parlour Gigs will be the next big thing for Shepparton, with the front-woman of self-titled band Dallas Frasca performing live in August.
Parlour Gigs allow audiences to experience intimate gigs with artists in a home setting.
Shepparton local Jody Donaldson will host Shepparton’s first Parlour Gig from her home, featuring Dallas Frasca.
‘‘I first discovered Dallas when my best friend bought me a ticket to see Baby Animals a number of years ago and included in the sale was a Woman Who Rock CD which featured a Dallas Frasca song,’’ Ms Donaldson said.
Ms Donaldson said Dallas was a brilliant entertainer.
‘‘Approximately a month ago Dallas put up on Facebook that she had been approached to be a guest in what’s called Parlour Gigs and a lucky fan gets to host a gig right from their home,’’ she said.
Dallas has toured the world, clocking more than 900 shows with her band including nine international tours, and Shepparton is her next stop.
‘‘I will be holding this (gig) outside undercover, with a groovy area set up,’’ Ms Donaldson said.
She said Dallas would be performing without her band on an informal level.
‘‘She has been described by Rolling Stone as Janis Joplin and Angus Young having a baby and baptising her in Bourbon,’’ she said.
Dallas will be performing in Shepparton on Sunday, August 5 at 1pm. Guests are to arrive an hour before the event and BYO alcohol. Tickets must be purchased by June 8. For more details, the address or to buy tickets go to bit.ly/2wBsGc3
