Choir concert giving thanks

By Laura Briggs

Life Church in Mooroopna will have a Thanksgiving Concert hosted by the church’s African congregation.

Life Church member Lillian Nyangela said the concert would involve the church’s African Revival Choir, as well as guest performers including Light Choir from Melbourne and Anointed Band from Shepparton.

She said the event would include a guest speaker, a shared meal and lots of singing and dancing.

‘‘We’d like this to be a concert for many from Shepparton to come together and thank God for what He has done since the beginning of the year,’’ she said.

‘‘People have gone through difficulties between the beginning of the year and now, but it is God who has helped us to reach this time.’’

Miss Nyangela said all were welcome to attend the event.

‘‘We want everyone to come and give their thanks to God for whatever God has done for them,’’ she said.

Miss Nyangela said Africans tended to celebrate God and give thanks during the new year period.

But she said the Life Church group had chosen to host a mid-year concert because members were not limited to thanking God at any particular time.

She said they were thankful to God every day and the concert was an opportunity for others to join together in showing their gratefulness for who God is and what He has done for them.

The Thanksgiving Concert will be at Life Church in Mooroopna on Saturday, July 14 from 3pm to 9pm.
