Music enthusiasts will gather tonight and tomorrow night for the third instalment of The Winter Sessions at The Vault, Shepparton.
Three new bands are set to take to the stage, sharing their individual sounds and unique styles.
Annabelle Hays of King Puppy and the Carnivore is excited to return to her hometown of Shepparton to play blues and funk tunes.
‘‘We play the type of music that is good to listen to while sitting down,’’ Ms Hays said.
Based in Castlemaine, King Puppy and the Carnivore began as a duo and expanded to include friends.
The band will be playing as a trio this weekend, with Ms Hays singing and playing trumpet.
The group has also just released its third album and is looking forward to playing for a new crowd.
‘‘We’re really excited to come to Shepp, it’s always nice to play in the country,’’ Ms Hays said.
Another new group joining The Winter Sessions line-up is Imperial 3, a funk and jazz band playing its first Shepparton gig.
Benjamin Lewis, 17, will be playing with two others in a ‘‘vocal-based’’ performance.
Mr Lewis said he was ‘pretty nervous' because Imperial 3 was usually a five-piece instrumental band.
‘‘We’re just going to try and have a little bit of fun and play as many different styles (as possible),’’ he said.
Guests will also hear from KODAH, a soul and RnB seven-piece band.
Event organiser Jamie Lea was delighted to bring a variety of sounds to Shepparton.
‘‘It’s a privilege to have everyone in the room and to have such a diverse and electric line-up on the stage,’’ Ms Lea said.
