The Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra is gearing up to perform its three Sunday afternoon Chamber Concerts.
Held on August 19, August 26 and September 2 from 2pm at Eastbank, director Wendy Oakes said it was a great chance for GVCO members to explore a vast array of music in all sorts of instrumental combinations and hone their skills in smaller ensembles or as soloists, while forming new friendships within the orchestra.
Riverlinks performing arts and conventions manager Ken Cameron said music played a vital role in developing and inspiring the community.
‘‘It is wonderful to present a more relaxed style of musical performance that is accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds,’’ he said.
The Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra is a community orchestra based in Shepparton and includes people from all walks of life and from varied musical backgrounds. The group members meet weekly under the direction of Wendy Oakes to rehearse and prepare for their performances.
Entry to the concerts is via gold coin donation and bookings are not required.
