Those with an interest in wildflowers, birds, wildlife and historic relics will enjoy Rushworth’s fourth annual Wildflower Hunt this month.
The Maps to Apps Community Group event on August 26 aims to provide anyone interested with a relaxed day of exploring the unique ironbark forest of Whroo, 8km south of Rushworth.
Event organiser Nick Buzza said there would be three interesting routes for visitors to choose between, offering shorter distances or a longer distance of 6km.
‘‘Once again the organising committee is looking forward to hosting this event, with a brand new route for this year showcasing our wonderful wildflowers and gold mining history in the unique ironbark forest,’’ he said.
Mr Buzza said a map with the routes and wildflower locations and other points of interest would be available for a gold coin donation at the Balaclava Gold Mine car park, 8km south of Rushworth, between 9.30am and 10.30am.
Everyone is invited to attend the family-friendly event on August 26.
