Automotive excellence at Shepparton Motor Museum

Automotive enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn from the best in Shepparton next month.

The Shepparton Motor Mechanica is a month-long celebration set to recognise the region’s automotive excellence.

Shepparton Motor Museum and Collectables operations manager Jenna Buzza said the event, on at the museum to coincide with its seventh birthday celebrations, would offer a display of motoring and transport history with sections of the display that would be used to tell the story behind every motoring classic.

Ms Buzza said she was delighted to have Greg Maskell from Shepparton’s Maskells Customs and Classics at the event to share his expertise with those in attendance.

Mr Maskell has earned a reputation for building some of the finest custom cars produced in Australia.

Museum curator Shaun Lenard said the event would include displays and opportunities to learn from the experts.

‘‘People who have a passion for motoring excellence also have an appetite for knowledge, they want to understand how the fabrication was done, how a quality paint finish is achieved and how the motor was restored or built,’’ Mr Lenard said.

He said with plenty of expert advice on offer, he hoped the event would draw in many.

‘‘We hope this will grow into an annual event that attracts enthusiasts from around Australia who want to see great vehicles, but also learn some trade secrets they can apply in their own restorations or custom builds,’’ he said.

The Shepparton Motor Mechanica will be at the Shepparton Motor Museum and Collectables from February 1 to 28. Anyone from the automotive industry who wishes to participate in the event or for more information, phone the Shepparton Motor Museum on 58235833.
