Paris Underground back to enthral city

By Tara Whitsed

A cross between high-art circus theatre, comedy and cabaret is on in Shepparton next month.

The European-style cabaret Paris Underground is returning to Riverlinks Eastbank after first gracing the Riverlinks stage in 2015.

The tour brings together a diverse range of performers, including magicians, dancers, singers, circus and burlesque artists.

Riverlinks performing arts and conventions manager Ken Cameron said they had the pleasure of welcoming cabaret to Riverlinks in 2015.

‘‘The performance was sensational; we are excited to see what they have to offer this year,’’ he said.

‘‘Paris Underground offers lots of variety; each performance has its own unique flavour, in keeping with the European cabaret theme.’’

The show features the magic of Madotti and Vegas, Australia’s most unique magicians; the beauty and grace of aerialist, dancer and circus artist Hannah Trott; the rare skill of tap dance king Monsieur Eden Read; the dangerously charming and risqué repartee of chanteuse Aurora Kurth; new international burlesque artiste, dancer and showgirl Mimi Le Noir; and the gravity-defying talent of circus specialist Tim Rutty.

Seating is cabaret style with tables set out at Riverlinks Eastbank.

Paris Underground cabaret is on at Riverlinks Eastbank on Friday, April 12, from 7.30pm. Tickets are available online or through the box office, phone 58329511.
