Renowned Australian singer Silvie Paladino will take to the stage in Mooroopna for a special event.

The fundraising performance hosted by Mooroopna’s Life Church will feature Ms Paladino alongside the Salvation Army Melbourne Staff Band.

Ms Paladino is well-known for her regular appearances at the annual Carols by Candlelight and has featured at various events around the globe throughout her career.

Event organisers Lindsay and Ruth Black said after seeing Ms Paladino perform live a number of years ago in Melbourne, they were determined to have the singer come to the Shepparton region.

After a two-year quest to secure a date, Mr Black said they could not be more delighted to have Ms Paladino perform and share about her journey as a successful artist in the music industry.

‘‘It’s going to be a fabulous concert, everyone’s going to love it.’’

He said the concert would be provided as a night of entertainment for people of the Goulburn Valley while raising funds for a small community in East Timor — Baucau.

Mr Black said the funds would go towards building a youth hostel and helping in the areas where needed in the small community.

Having already sold more than 110 tickets, Mrs Black said she hoped the venue would be filled for the special occasion.

The concert will be held at Riverlinks WestSide in Mooroopna from 7pm on Saturday, April 13.

Tickets can be purchased for $30 online through www.riverlinks.com.au or alternatively at the door on the night.
