Tune up for the next Cushion Concert

By John Lewis

The popular Cushion Concert series returns next month offering families with young children another chance to relax and enjoy a half-hour of musical entertainment.

The Riverlinks concert series runs four times a year — in March, May, September and November — with different performers and a different theme. For the November concert, string instrument students from Wanganui Park Secondary College will perform.

Children are provided with colouring pages and crayons and can sit on cushions and draw or join in the musical fun.

Riverlinks’ performing arts and conventions manager Ken Cameron said the cushion concert series was a popular calendar highlight for young children and local performers.

“They are a fantastic avenue for the region's talent to perform without the pressure of being on 'the big stage',” Mr Cameron said.

He said the concerts were popular with family daycare and kinder groups, mums’ groups, grandparents, families and preschools.

The November Cushion Concert takes place on Thursday, November 14 from 10.30am to 11am at Riverlinks Eastbank, Welsford St, Shepparton.

Tickets are $5 for children and free for adults accompanying a child.
